TEAM LEADER - CIVIL
Job Title: Civil Team Leader
Department: Facilities / Civil Maintenance
Reports To: Facilities Manager / Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Civil Team Leader is responsible for leading a crew in the maintenance, repair, and minor construction of building structures and surrounding grounds. This includes tasks related to masonry, concrete, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and drainage systems. The leader ensures work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Work Coordination: Lead and participate in daily civil maintenance activities, including structural repairs, painting, masonry, carpentry, and plumbing fixes.
• Site Supervision: Supervise construction and repair sites, ensuring compliance with designs, specifications, and safety standards.
• Team Assignment: Delegate tasks effectively to team members based on skills and project requirements.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and is free from defects.
• Material Management: Estimate material requirements, raise purchase requests, and manage on-site materials and tools.
• Safety Enforcement: Ensure all team members follow safe work practices, use PPE correctly, and secure work areas.
• Training: Mentor and train new team members on civil work techniques and safety procedures.
• Reporting: Document work progress, material usage, and any issues encountered for management reporting.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma; certification or diploma in Civil Engineering or a trade (carpentry, masonry) is a strong advantage.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in civil maintenance, construction, or a related trade.
• Demonstrated experience in a leadership or foreman role.
• Practical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, proactive approach.
• Excellent communication and team management skills.
