Job Description

Job Purpose

: To ensure that all supporting documentation for group entities and related-party transactions is complete, accurate, and compliant with UAE tax laws. This includes verifying invoices, bills, contracts and ledgers; ensuring correct accounting and tax treatment; and preparing reconciliations and exception reports. The Assistant Tax Specialist acts as the first line of review to ensure all records are audit-ready before tax return filing and reporting.

Key Duties:



a) Review and verify invoices, bills, contracts, and supporting documents for all tax-relevant transactions to ensure they meet FTA requirements.

b) Check that all transactions are recorded under the correct accounting heads and ledgers in coordination with the finance team and agreed upon procedures.

c) Perform account and tax reconciliations (e.g., VAT ledgers, intercompany balances, return vs GL).

d) Prepare findings and pending item reports e.g. Flag documentation gaps, errors, or potential non-compliance for internal review by the Tax Specialist and Group Tax Manager.

e) Follow up with business units and departments to collect missing documents, clarify inconsistencies, or request updates.

f) Assist in maintaining organized tax documentation archives, both digitally and physically, for audit readiness.

g) Support the Tax Specialist in compiling the required supporting documents for VAT, Corporate Tax, and Transfer Pricing compliance.

h) Assist in FTA tax portal registrations, amendments, and deregistration's, under guidance.

i) Ensure timely updates of company records on the FTA portal, including license renewals and other changes.

j) Continuously improving or enhancing the knowledge of applicable laws and updates by constant reading and discussions on different topics.

h) Any other duties or job assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Decision Making Authority and Responsibility:



a) Operates under the supervision of the Tax Specialist and Group Tax Manager.

b) Has no authority to submit tax returns or make tax determinations.

c) May make operational decisions related to document follow-ups or internal reminders.

d) All findings and reconciliations are reviewed by senior team members before action.

Knowledge:



a)Basic Knowledge of UAE VAT & Corporate Tax regulations & Transfer pricing.

b) Familiarity with FTA documentation standards and audit procedures

c) Understanding of

accounting ledgers, journal entries, and chart of accounts



Skills:



a) Strong attention to detail and documentation control

b) Ability to perform accurate reconciliations and identify data gaps

c) Clear communication skills (especially for internal coordination)

d) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems

e) Strong organizational and reporting capabilities

Competencies:

Qualifications & Experience:



a) Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field

b) 0-2 years of experience in accounting, tax support, or audit documentation roles

c)Experience reviewing tax-related documents or accounting records preferred

d)Exposure to UAE tax environment or basic tax training is advantageous

e) Basic or advanced user of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
