This position supports a US Military customer and may have a 24 x 7 support requirement which could include an Extended Workweek (EWW) or Shift Work during other than normal duty hours.
Job Responsibilities:
Design, optimize, and oversee the implementation of short- and long-term data networks initiatives
Provide comprehensive designs to address and compliment strategic network systems direction
Provide advanced troubleshooting, implementation, and configuration of network hardware and software
Analyze functional problems and determines techniques / requirements feasible for expedited solutions
Perform network capacity planning and performance analysis to properly size network services
Perform systems performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities
Compose and maintain network documentation such as topology diagrams, circuit/equipment inventories and configuration reports
Apply updates or changes to maintain security protection levels
Apply best practices and in compliance with security and DISA guidelines
Conduct cost analysis and evaluate vendor capabilities to provide the required products or services
Provide support for Microsoft System Center, Microsoft Active Directory, and direct experience with Network Appliance Data Storage Filers and Near Store Appliances (and associated software technologies such as SnapMirror, SnapRestore, Virtual File Manager, Snap Manager for Exchange) that support complete utility of the existing enterprise storage architecture
Job Requirements:
8 years of operational experience
Knowledge of deploying information systems, managing, and troubleshooting Windows Active Directory, Group Policy Object (GPOs), and Domain Name Service (DNS)
Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems Windows 2008(R2) and Windows Server 2003
Knowledge of system deployment, management, and troubleshooting of messaging protocols and operations with Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010 products
Knowledge of backup technologies specifically Symantec backup exec and NetApp SIPR/NIPR Access Point (SNAP) manager utilities
Knowledge and familiarity with reviewing and deploying vendor updates for security patches
Knowledge and familiarity with storage technologies such as Storage Area Network (SAN) or Network Attached Storage (NAS)
Knowledge and familiarity with server performance tuning and monitoring tools
Shall have knowledge and familiarity with server configuration and management tools (Microsoft System Center Operations manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM))
Network troubleshooting skills and knowledge of networks
Technical documentation skills. Shall have knowledge and familiarity of action plans for planned and unplanned changes to the network infrastructure
Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
