Position Summary

The objectives and goals the swimming coach establishes should reflect the needs of the swimmers, the needs of the team and the needs of the program.

The coach will have many specific objectives, but each could probably be grouped into four major categories:

\xc2\xa7 To provide personal and social development for lifetime skills.

\xc2\xa7 To develop and improve the technical and physical skills of swimming.

\xc2\xa7 To provide a fun and enjoyable environment.

\xc2\xa7 To orient young people to assist achieving their goals.

Duties & Responsibilities

\xc2\xa7 Swim coaching for daily swimming lessons / group classes

\xc2\xa7 Coach for swim camps if and when requested to do so, including swimming development and promotion

\xc2\xa7 Ensure sufficient time is spent planning and preparing for swimming sessions at the appropriate swimming level

\xc2\xa7 Identify participants swimming abilities

\xc2\xa7 Advertising for all Advantage Sports Services swim programs

\xc2\xa7 Ensure safety standards are followed in all sessions

\xc2\xa7 Ensure that life-saving equipment is in working order

\xc2\xa7 Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques to students

\xc2\xa7 Set ground rules before each session

\xc2\xa7 Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance

\xc2\xa7 Evaluate sessions and give feedback after each session to the respective parents / students

\xc2\xa7 Working a minimum of 5 days per week (30 hours in total)

\xc2\xa7 Assist with creating the top Swimming Development Program within Abu Dhabi.

\xc2\xa7 Ensure all swimming sessions are taught by Advantage is of the highest calibre at all times.

\xc2\xa7 Assist assembling a complete swimming program offering private lessons, group lessons and swim camps for all standards and also adapt other ideas.

\xc2\xa7 Promote Advantage Sports sponsorship brands.

\xc2\xa7 To be a point of contact between clients and the Managing Director and assist if and when necessary.

\xc2\xa7 To assist in locating and setting up new projects.

\xc2\xa7 Increase revenue for the tennis section of Advantage Sports Services.

\xc2\xa7 Help liaise with swim authorities to improve swim programs and standards in the UAE.

\xc2\xa7 Assist in swimming promotions, clinics, open days without hesitation

Personal Specifications

\xc2\xa7 Interest and ability in swimming

\xc2\xa7 Good spoken English communication skills

\xc2\xa7 The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers

\xc2\xa7 Perseverance and patience is extremely important

\xc2\xa7 The ability to encourage people and put them at ease

\xc2\xa7 Qualification/s from an internationally recognized training school (as applicable to your role) in one or more of the following:

i. Learn to Swim

ii. Infant Aquatics

iii. Stroke Development

iv. Aqua Tone
