Strategic Contribution
Development, roll out and communication of Risk & Controls, Operations strategy and contributing to the overall Group Operations strategy.
People Management
Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the Group Operations department by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize sectional performance.
Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned department, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.
Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned department to foster a value driven culture within the bank.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
Manage the preparation and recommend the department budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Creation and continuous improvement of the department operations procedures ensuring that they comply with all relevant Regulatory and FAB requirements.
Review and challenge Operations procedures to ensure they are robust, clear and have clearly documented controls.
Drive consistency of procedures between Group Operations and International locations
Review the procedures across Operations and ensure effective implementation of the functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned department activity so that to ensure controls are adequately captured all relevant procedural/legislative requirements, fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
Continuous Improvement
Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Reporting
Creation of key control related reports, identification and remediation of themes.
Monitor Group Operations reports and challenge any adverse trends or outliers.
Review and challenge of monthly Operations Dashboard providing details of all the Key Performance Indicators from Operations and Controls perspective.
Drive consistency of reporting and MI between Group Operations and International locations.
Risk Assessments
Oversee and challenge risk assessments.
Drive consistency of risk and control assessments across Group Operations and International countries.
Audit Remediation
Track, monitor, guide and support the remediation of audit findings across group operations.
Support and guide on queries / complex scenarios from Ops Risk Perspective including ORAP discussions.
Read Across
Creation, roll out and embedment of Group Operations Read Across Framework.
Review material Internal Events and assurance findings (GSO, Audit and Compliance) to determine applicability for read across.
Lead on the determination as to whether remedial is local, across a cluster of locations or across all Operations areas.
Monitor remediation of Read Across items.
Determine applicability to other locations.
APM (Applications Parameter Management)
Maintain the functional Application Parameters, including ongoing Projects across FAB UAE & International locations ensuring Transparency and Accountability.
Internal Accounts Monitoring
Oversight of Account Ownership Verification (AOV) process, Accounts Rationalization, and Resolution of Aged Transactions.
Monitor AOV MI, key themes and challenge Operations stakeholders.
DLP
Monitor DLP MI to identify themes and material incidents, ensuring appropriate remediation is completed.
BCP
Support Business Continuity Plan documentation for all units across Group Operations including the setting up of the BCP site infrastructure.
Incident Management
Review, challenge and conduct read across on all the incidents managed by the respective owner and in case of lack of ownership get into an advisory and arbitration role to ensure logging of the incident by the owner.
Thematic Reviews
Utilising MI, conduct thematic reviews of key processes, to determine the effectiveness of internal controls.
Monitor the remediation of thematic reviews.
AML and Regulatory Compliance
Assist Anti money laundering, Central Bank Guidelines and other internal policies / procedures are strictly followed and any deviations are reported to levels prescribed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor\'s degree in finance or related discipline.
Minimum Experience
10 - 15 years\' relevant experience in the banking sector with at least 8 years in similar positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities in the Risk Management & Operation function.
Have international experience in the Control / Operation function.
10 years\' experience in banking operations & project related engagements at a senior level.
Knowledge and experiences in implementing Operational Risk Tools.
Change leader and Processes re-engineering experience
Project Management, planning and strategical thinking.
