General Description of Role and Responsibilities: Conduct environmental assessments to identify the environmental impact of various activities and operations. Develop and implement sustainability strategies and action plans that align with the organization's or community's goals. Ensure sustainability initiatives comply with local, national, and international environmental laws and regulations. Promote energy efficiency, resource conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing within an organization or community. Advise on adopting renewable energy sources and eco-friendly technologies to reduce the carbon footprint. Develop waste reduction and recycling programs to minimize waste and promote responsible disposal. Advise on sustainable building and infrastructure design, green certifications, and sustainable construction practices. Promote sustainable transportation solutions, such as public transit, biking infrastructure, and electric vehicles. Advocate for corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and ethical business practices. Engage with stakeholders and the local community to gather input and build support for sustainability projects. Prepare sustainability reports that track progress, performance metrics, and achievements toward sustainability goals. Provide training and educational resources to employees, community members, and stakeholders to increase awareness and understanding of sustainability principles. Perform other duties as assigned by the client and the line manager. The role reports to the program director. Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: Bachelors degree in civil engineering, sustainability, environmental science or related field. A postgraduate degree in Engineering or an MBA will be considered a plus. At least 10+ years of experience working on large-scale projects. Ideally, a combination of Development experience and more traditional PMO experience. PMP, PMI, CIOB or equivalent certification is strongly preferred. Strong track record in delivering projects in a fast-moving and challenging environment. Proven experience in building & infrastructure and leading high-performing teams. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word. Excellent command of written and spoken English.
