Your responsibilities as Sustainability Consultant (Carbon Specialist)

The Sustainability Consultant will be responsible for providing sustainability consultancy services and managing the green building certification process for a range of projects.

• Conducting embodied carbon assessments of upcoming and existing assets and providing recommendations for reducing upfront carbon.
• Performing Whole Life Cycle Assessment in accordance with LEED, Mostadam & Estidama credit requirements.
• Supporting Life Cycle Costing as a Sustainability expert on the project
• Developing sustainability strategies and roadmaps for clients.
• Assisting with the design and implementation decarbonization strategies.
• Consulting on innovative sustainable design strategies and features/elements
• Provide sustainability consultancy services and take ownership of projects under various Green Building Rating Systems (Estidama, LEED, Mostadam, Envision, DM Green Building regulations) in design and construction stages for Buildings and/or Masterplans/Communities)
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to ensure the project is in compliance with its sustainability targets and on track to achieving the green building rating systems requirements.
• Prepare and review the submittals for green building certification through the various project stages to ensure technical quality of the documentation.
• Prepare sustainability technical specifications
• Produce written technical-design reports and progress updates
• Represent the company at client meetings, and other professional meetings.
• Carry out construction site inspections and site audits to verify the implementation of the sustainability measures during construction.
• Understand and review the building energy simulation process and advise on optimal design solutions

You and your competencies

• Bachelor and/or Masters degree in related discipline (Engineering, Environmental, Architecture)
• Minimum 2-3 years of related experience in UAE or GCC
• Proficiency and experience using OneClick LCA, or other lifecycle assessment software is a must.
• Excellent English language skills (written and oral), with strong communications (written and oral) skills
• Experience in performing LEED and Estidama submissions and completing the certification process.
• Experience in energy modelling, renewable energy, parametric modelling software is advantageous
• Desired qualifications - LEED AP, Estidama PQP, WELL AP, Fitwell, Envision SP, Mostadam AP, others
• Membership of a relevant professional body is desirable
• Strong interpersonal skills
