Responsibilities include selecting fresh ingredients, preparing sushi rice, rolling sushi, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring excellent food presentation. A strong understanding of traditional Japanese techniques, food safety, and knife skills is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and present sushi, sashimi, nigiri, rolls, and other Japanese dishes
Ensure the freshness and quality of fish and other ingredients
Maintain a clean and sanitary sushi station at all times
Monitor inventory and coordinate with kitchen management for ingredient ordering
Interact with customers when applicable, providing excellent service and product knowledge
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene guidelines
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role
In-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
Food handler certification (preferred or required based on local regulations)
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
