Support Products and General Systems Lead Grade: 5 Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The role is responsible to the CAO Services Manager, the Support Products & General Systems Lead will be undertaking a Typhoon support/liaison role within the TSC at KFdAB, Taif, Saudi Arabia. The role requires the job holder to lead a small team of technical specialists providing on hand technical support to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) forward, depth and SMU maintenance organisation by responding to Technical Queries raised by the RSAF utilising the Team Centre Query resolution process. Providing Support to the RSAF in generating National Instructions from Industry provided approved data. The role requires the job holder to carry out day to day liaison between the UK based 'In Service Support Team (ISST), Typhoon Design Support Team and the RSAF ensuring that service level agreements are met for Technical Queries and discrete tasking . JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Answering Support Products, General Systems and AGE queries using approved data within the TSC, sourced from Technical Publications and TSC documentation. Provide TTSS main point of contact with industry for Typhoon Support Products, General Systems and AGE with respect to continuing airworthiness. Liaising with query originator to fully understand query and populate Teamcentre system accordingly. Ensure that initial analysis of queries has been provided to determine and agree acceptance, prioritisation and best route to providing an answer, liaise with appropriate stakeholders including the Saudi Industry, TTSS, RSAF, and Fast Jet Support Hub (FJSH). Confirming acceptance/rejection of queries, liaising with appropriate stakeholders, providing justification as appropriate. Confirming and agreeing prioritisation of queries, liaising with appropriate Stakeholders. Ensuring all queries, responses, status prioritisation is recorded on the Teamcentre System. Interfacing with European Industry via the FJSH to obtain a response as appropriate. Providing input to the status reporting process. Analysis of Technical Support Specialist Reports in order to identify 'bottlenecks' in the system and areas where improvements can be made. Corrective actions should then be suggested. Assisting Maintenance and Line Technical Support staff in the resolution of on-aircraft problems. Interfacing with the Typhoon Design Support Team in the TSC and the UK on all technical matters to prevent duplication and ensure common approach to problems. Assist in analysis of Technical Specialist Reports and data provided by In-Service Data Management Team in order to identify trends in maintenance and operational problem areas on Typhoon to identify where improvements can be made. Providing structured On-the-Job training for Saudi National Technical Specialist Staff, in form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate. Support to the production of the monthly reports as required. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION Essential Must be educated to Degree/HND level in a relevant engineering discipline or have relevant experience supported by formal, recorded workplace applied related training. Experience of Typhoon Support Products and AGE gained in an aerospace design or design support related environment. Knowledge of Typhoon General Systems. Computer literate with a sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, TrilogiView. Capable of working independently, or as part of a team, under extreme pressure and to tight operational timescales. Understanding of Engineering, Design, Airworthiness, Safety and Quality standards. Knowledge of export control requirements (ITAR/USEC) Experience of man management and people development competencies. A proven communicator and must be able to demonstrate a minimum level of English Language Capability (IELTS 6.5) across comprehension, verbal and written forms of communication. Desirable Extensive experience of the Typhoon platform. Experience of working in a customer support environment. Management experience with ability to manage staff together with technical skillsets. Knowledge of PLM/Teamcentre.
