Job Purpose

Senior Consultant who is an expert in Subsurface Digitalization and AI, to support ongoing digital projects and initiatives, through identification of industry opportunities and quick wins adding value to COMPANY portfolio. The candidate should have experience in leading AI and Digitalization projects, experience in scripting (i.e., Python, R, etc.) and knowledge of various integration platforms (i.e., Spotfire, PowerBI, JupyterHub, DataIKU, etc). These skills should be complemented with superior subsurface fundamentals and understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support COMPANY Subsurface Digital & AI Technology projects, taking into consideration industry leaders in the domain. Prioritize technologies based on maturity, fast implementation and value creation.
• Propose/Define upstream digital transformation initiatives to enhance reservoir and well performance, through automated efficient processes and constraints management
• Oversee the implementation of ongoing digital solutions to create value from data, including data mining, predictive analytics, machine learning and big data, including Autonomous Well Control, Data-driven Reservoir Modelling for Production Injection Optimization and Well Portfolio Optimization
• Ability to lead and contribute to development of advanced AI and Digital solutions through scripting and process management across various internal and external stakeholders
• Define interfaces, understand the challenges and provide solutions to better align key interrelated areas: people, automated workflows, processes and technologies.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement, through design and implementation of new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of existing workflows and operational processes.
• Review and oversee added value and lessons learned from internal and outside use cases
• Develop standards and best practices for application of AI and Data Analytics in subsurface discipline
• Train and develop COMPANY staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Requirements

• Subject Matter Expert in Subsurface AI & Digitalization Domain, through demonstration of relevant solutions development with data/system architecture and processes similar to COMPANY.
• Extensive experience (20+ years) in Reservoir & Petroleum Engineering, with ability to identify opportunities for application of AI technologies to improve performance and create value.
• Hands-on experience in statistical and data mining techniques such as Regression Simulation, Scenario Analysis, Clustering, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Random Forest, Text Mining, etc.
• Experience (10+ years) in programming languages such as R, Python, MATLAB, VBA etc.
• Experience in POSC/PPDM, PRODML, WITSML and OLE/ODBC.
• Experience (10+ years) in AI & Digitalization projects management and development of requirements including internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience (10+ years) in creating standardized enterprise level solutions that are scalable, upgradeable and extensible.
• Experience (10+ years) in modelling of the entire production system (Reservoir, wells, surface Network and Process) coupled with knowledge of industry standard enterprise solutions (data management, visualization, etc.)
• Experience (10+ years) in exploiting real time data coupled with physical and data driven models to manage oil and gas fields to increase asset value.
• Experience (10+ years) in working knowledge of Petroleum Engineering software such as Pipesim, Prosper, Wellflo, etc.
• Experience (10+ years) in working in a team, with a track record of convincing/guiding stakeholders to the most sustainable approaches, practiced management of change, familiar with continuous process improvements methods, implemented quality management frameworks, etc.
• Worked on at least 10+ major upstream digital projects.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with COMPANY engineers.
• Work independently and suggest innovative ideas to improve and enhance the solution.
