The role of Project Subcontracts Lead is to collaborate within a multi-discipline team in an effort to fully develop, deliver and complete a successful project. As part of this collaborative effort, this role requires the presence of the individual on site at the designated project location, working within a group setting, with regular interaction during meetings and one on one, face to face discussions with other individuals on the team on a daily basis. Serves as the on-site acquisition point-of-contact, collaborating with our supply chain and operations/technical organizations to assist them with developing requirements, identifying potential suppliers, and formulating acquisition strategies to ensure Seadrill success. Acts as the lead Subcontracts representative for assigned project(s) involving high dollar or technically unique items, or critical product lines. Responsible for overseeing key elements the assigned project's subcontract process, which may include market research to identify potential sources, drafting, soliciting, selecting, awarding, managing, and closing a wide range of subcontracts from fixed-price, labor hour, to cost type.

This role must be fully competent in all conventional phases of subcontracting and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard subcontracting techniques, procedures, and criteria. Independently performs a variety of assignments involving subcontracting duties and responsibilities for projects involving high dollar, technically unique items or critical product lines. This role has a direct impact upon cost containment, efficiency and the profitability of operations and may involve direct interface with clients. Typical Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of the project execution plan in the area of subcontracts.
• Contributes to the development of Project Subcontracting Plans, Procedures and Project Bidders List.
• Consult with engineering and construction management to clarify material and scope of work requirements.
• Discuss needs with subcontractors, review subcontractor's alternate suggestions, and make recommendations to project management with respect to cost reductions, better deliveries, and sales terms.
• Consult with subcontractors and project engineers regarding technical suitability of equipment and work methods.
• Secure quotations and develops cost information for proposals.
• Represents the subcontracts function in client presentations.
• Creates bid tabulation forms and other procurement documents.
• Obtain routine cost information for estimating purposes.
• Enter and distribute subcontracts and other procurement documents.
• Solicit information from subcontractors regarding their capabilities and qualifications and update the supplier database of information.

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline
• Requires a minimum of 5-7 years of related procurement or subcontracts experience.
• Experience in engineering construction-related subcontracting environment encompassing pre-solicitation, solicitation, evaluating/source selection, award, post-award management and closeout activities.
• Solid written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Commitment to high standards of quality and compliant work products.
• Creative, flexible, and resourceful in finding solutions to overcome challenges.
• Advanced Knowledge of purchasing software or similar enterprise resource planning purchasing system.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software.
