Job Purpose:
The Structural Test Engineer is responsible from; structural testing (including static, dynamic, and fatigue testing) and validation of the UAV platform, ensuring the airframe and all supporting structures meet performance, safety, and durability standards and will work closely with design, integration, and flight test teams to ensure that all structural elements meet stringent specifications.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive structural test plans for UAV systems and airframes
• Manage and guide test programs from planning through execution, providing technical oversight
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring smooth integration of structural testing into broader system validation processes
• Lead complex root cause investigations and corrective action planning
• Develop and maintain best practices for structural testing, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Provide strategic input into the development and execution of test strategies and risk assessments
• Oversee the work of senior engineers and mentor them in technical development
• Contribute to innovation in test methodologies, incorporating new technologies and tools into testing procedures
• Prepare and deliver high-level reports to senior management and stakeholders

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in structural testing, with expertise in leading testing programs for UAV or aerospace systems. Demonstrated leadership in complex testing environments.
• Training: Advanced certifications in structural testing, aerospace engineering, and project management. Additional certifications in leadership, risk management, and industry standards compliance (e.g., MIL-STD, DO-160).

Skills & Competencies:

• Expertise in static, dynamic, and fatigue testing methodologies
• Proficient in structural analysis and using test equipment (e.g., load cells, strain gauges, vibration testing rigs)
• Proficiency in software like ANSYS, MATLAB, and LabVIEW for test data collection and analysis
• Ability to work independently on complex test setups and equipment calibration
• Strong report writing skills with the ability to highlight key findings and deviations
• Ability to lead small teams and mentor junior engineers in test execution
