Structural Design Engineer
Job Description
Assist in structural design and analysis of foundations, slabs, beams, columns, and retaining walls using software such as SAFE, ETABS, and PROKON.
Prepare structural drawings, details, and schedules in coordination with architectural and MEP teams.
Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure structural elements are executed per design.
Support in reviewing contractor/shop drawings and responding to RFIs.
Collaborate with senior engineers to resolve design conflicts and propose practical solutions.
Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (ACI, ASCE, UBC 97, Dubai Municipality standards).
Participate in technical meetings and document decisions and action items.
Assist in preparing technical reports, method statements, and submission packages for authorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. 1-3 years of experience in structural design or construction supervision. Familiarity with structural analysis software (SAFE, ETABS, PROKON, AutoCAD). Basic understanding of seismic design, load combinations, and code interpretation. Strong communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus). Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in Dubai is a must.
