The Strategy Instrumentation and DCS Expert supports diagnostic capabilities across AMEI through their advanced knowledge and experience within the domain of Instrumentation and within Diagnostic Control Systems (DCS). Working as part of the AMEI Central Maintenance team, this group of experts leverages the TCL and Expert Communities of Practice in order to confirm and reinforce our maintenance, process safety and reliability strategies across our Large Industries sites. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Routine Maintenance Support
Focuses on short-term reliability improvement by analyzing reliability incidents in order to identify potential improvements to be deployed across similar sites in order to avoid repeat occurrences
Supports on-call teams with troubleshooting within his/her domain of expertise
Follow modifications to ensure the completion of an appropriate process safety review, including the MOC, SOP revisions, and relevant training
Supports the deployment of process simulators by challenging process modeling
Manages supplier relationships including the establishment and monitoring of relevant SLAs, ensuring routine maintenance integration, and confirming that proper support services are in place
Act as a Design Authority in his/her field, being a key player in the Management Of Change process and contributing to new facility design review
Supports the SIOC with the development of relevant remote monitoring tools and other relevant projects
Strategic Maintenance Management Operations Management
Collaborates on planning for and execution of TARs in order to improve the reliability and availability of the equipment to deliver customers.
Participates in risk assessments related to extraordinary contract scenarios as required by the LI Industrial Manager, like vulnerability study taking into account our commitments for customers.
Reviews and validates efficiency actions that could potentially impact supply reliability in the short term; ensures that reliability/availability (in particular related contractual obligations) have been properly addressed while maintaining long term efficiency management
Analyses root causes related to reliability incidents and defines a long-term action plan to prevent future unscheduled shutdowns
Support turnarounds as requested
Ensures the implementation of the group's requirements in its field of expertise, the compliance of the factories, in order to ensure the implementation of the maintenance and operational strategy.
Represents Operations on new projects in order to validate and/or propose modifications aimed an improving safety, reliability and efficiencies
Establishes relevant SLA with the DCS providers and ensure routine maintenance in integrated in the site maintenance policy
Expertise Sharing and Continuous Improvement
Proposes new projects to the CoP with the objective of improving design and operations in area of expertise
Participates in establishing new standards, specifications, and vendor selection criterion as sponsored by the CoP
Through a variety of forums, including online communities, training and mentorship, works to develop less experienced experts across the Group
Provides users training and support in enhancing tool functionalities
Continues to develop technical expertise in his/her field of expertise through TCL program participation, CoP involvement, improving T&Q programs, promoting the adoption of predictive maintenance tools and the digital modeling of assets
Promotes development to expertise, identifies new potentials experts, put in place tutoring program.
Are you a MATCH?
A. Qualifications & Experience: (list education, certifications, training, work experience, etc.)
Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline (eg - Instrumentations & DCS, Smart Manufacturing)
At least 7 years experience across various spheres of Operations, Maintenance, Reliability and/or a Centre of Excellence for Maintenance
Proven advanced technical and hands-on expertise in Instrumentation, DCS, and Smart Manufacturing domains
Process safety knowledge
Knowledge of LI technologies (ASU, Pipelines, metering)
Exceptional operational troubleshooting skills
HyCo knowledge is desirable
Knowledge of Big Data analysis, Process Modeling, industrial IT and digital tools is advantageous B. Skills and Competencies: (list technical & core skills, soft skills, behavioral competencies, etc.)
Actively promotes safety and security in the workplace
Strong commitment to driving performance and reliability across AL's Primary Production facilities
Ability to anticipate and deal with changing and fast-paced environments
