Job Purpose:

To operate and maintain the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant to ensure effective treatment of wastewater and production of high-quality water, while complying with safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:1. Plant Operation & Monitoring

Operate STP and RO plants including pumps, valves, dosing systems, blowers, filters, membranes, and control panels. Monitor plant parameters such as flow rate, pressure, pH, TDS, DO, chlorine levels, etc., and ensure they remain within acceptable limits. Perform routine start-up and shutdown procedures as per SOPs.

2. Routine Maintenance

Conduct preventive maintenance tasks on equipment like motors, pumps, air diffusers, membranes, and pipelines. Clean filters, backwash media, flush membranes, and carry out chemical dosing. Identify, report, and assist in rectifying mechanical or electrical faults.

3. Water Quality Control

Collect water samples and perform basic testing for pH, chlorine, turbidity, TDS, and other relevant parameters. Ensure treated water meets local environmental and health standards. Record test results and report abnormalities.

4. Safety & Compliance

Follow all safety procedures including the use of PPE, confined space entry, chemical handling, and emergency response. Ensure compliance with local municipality and environmental authority guidelines (e.g., DM, EHS). Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the plant area.

5. Record Keeping & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of operational data, test results, chemical usage, maintenance activities, and logbook entries. Report issues, faults, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.

6. Coordination & Team Support

Coordinate with the maintenance and electrical teams for repairs and upgrades. Support audits and inspections by internal teams or external authorities. Assist in training junior operators if required.

Qualifications & Skills:

ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. Minimum 2-5 years of experience operating STP and RO plants. Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes like MBBR, SBR, UF, and RO systems. Familiarity with chemical dosing, membrane cleaning, and water testing equipment. Good communication and reporting skills. Physically fit and able to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
