Key Responsibilities1. Inventory Control & Issuance
Issuance Management:
Issue materials, tools, and consumables only against approved Material Requisition Forms (MRF) or authorized requests, ensuring accurate quantity recording and proper authorization.
Stock Rotation:
Implement and enforce a "First-In, First-Out" (FIFO) system for perishable, time-sensitive, or bulk materials to minimize spoilage and obsolescence.
Stock Levels:
Monitor current stock levels against minimum and maximum limits, communicating low stock alerts promptly to the Procurement department to prevent project delays.
Physical Inventory:
Conduct regular physical inventory counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile findings with digital records to maintain 100% stock accuracy.
2. Receiving, Storage & Documentation
Material Receiving:
Supervise the receiving and off-loading of all incoming deliveries, meticulously checking quantity and description against the Local Purchase Order (LPO) and Delivery Note (DN).
Secure Storage:
Ensure all materials are stored safely, securely, and in designated areas, paying attention to specific requirements for hazardous, fragile, or climate-sensitive items.
Record Keeping:
Maintain a comprehensive and organized filing system for all documentation, including delivery notes, inspection reports, material requisitions, and stock cards.
3. Safety, Housekeeping & Coordination
Site Housekeeping:
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization within the store and adjacent laydown areas, ensuring clear access routes at all times.
HSE Compliance:
Ensure all material stacking, handling, and storage practices comply strictly with UNEC's
Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
standards to prevent collapse hazards or worker injury.
Coordination:
Collaborate effectively with the Site Logistics Supervisor, site foremen, and material expeditors to ensure materials are available and dispatched efficiently to the work fronts.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent technical/vocational certification.
Experience:
Minimum
3 to 5 years
of dedicated experience as a Store Keeper or Material Controller, with a proven track record specifically on large
construction or industrial sites
in the
UAE/GCC
.
Technical Proficiency:
Practical experience managing inventory systems (e.g., basic ERP modules, computerized stock systems).
Proficiency in basic computer applications, particularly
Microsoft Excel
for tracking and reporting.
Skills:
Excellent numeracy, strong organizational and time management skills, and meticulous attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication in English is essential; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu is highly advantageous for site communication.
Physical Requirement:
Ability to handle physical work and stand for extended periods, and perform duties in an outdoor/site environment.
