Job Description

A storekeeper manages inventory, organizes storage, and oversees the receiving and dispatching of goods to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient operations. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory records, processing orders, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role is critical for any retail or warehouse environment, as it ensures supplies are available and managed correctly. Key responsibilities

Inventory management:

Maintain accurate records of all stock, including stock levels, receipts, and withdrawals.

Stock control:

Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking, and manage the rotation of stock (e.g., using the first-in, first-out method).

Receiving and dispatching:

Receive shipments, inspect goods for damage or discrepancies, and organize them for proper storage or dispatch.

Organization and storage:

Ensure the store or warehouse is clean, organized, and safe, with a proper system for storing items efficiently.

Order processing:

Process purchase requisitions and coordinate with suppliers and vendors for new orders and deliveries.

Reporting:

Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile physical stock with records, reporting any discrepancies.

Safety and compliance:

Ensure all storage and handling practices comply with health, safety, and government regulations.

Supervision:

In more senior roles, this can include supervising and directing other staff members.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: BD200.000 - BD220.000 per month
