Store Keeper for Fabric Section
Job Title: Fabric & Textile Store Keeper
Department: Retail - Fabrics & Home Textiles
Reports To: Department Manager / Head of Retail
Salary Range: AED 3,500 - 5,000 per month
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years in fabric retail, textile warehouse, or garment manufacturing.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a knowledgeable and meticulous Store Keeper to manage the inventory and storage of our extensive fabric and textile collection. This role requires a specialized understanding of fabric types, care, and handling. You will be responsible for maintaining a well-organized fabric library, ensuring accurate stock records, and supporting the sales team with efficient material retrieval.
Key Responsibilities:

• Specialized Inventory Control: Maintain precise records of all fabric rolls, including type (cotton, silk, linen, polyester, etc.), color, pattern, length, and width.
• Fabric Handling & Storage: Store fabrics correctly to prevent damage from moisture, dust, sunlight, or pests. Knowledge of rolling, folding, and shelving different fabric types is essential.
• Stock Receiving: Inspect incoming fabric shipments for defects, color consistency, and accurate yardage/meterage against supplier invoices.
• Customer & Sales Support: Work closely with sales staff and tailors to locate and cut specific fabrics for customers promptly and accurately. Manage the remnants and leftover pieces efficiently.
• Display & Merchandising Support: Rotate stock and provide fabrics for display updates, ensuring the newest and most appealing materials are showcased.
• Quality Control: Regularly inspect stored fabrics for any signs of deterioration, discoloration, or damage.
• Ordering Support: Monitor stock levels of popular fabrics and notify the manager when replenishment is needed. Assist in preparing orders for specialty materials.
• Organization: Create and maintain a logical, easily navigable storage system (e.g., by material, color, or collection).
• Documentation: Keep all records related to fabric inventory, cuttings, and sales floor replenishment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: High school diploma. A background in textiles, tailoring, or fashion is a significant advantage.
• Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience handling fabrics in a retail, wholesale, or manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge: Strong practical knowledge of different fabric materials, their properties, and proper care during storage.
• Skills: Excellent attention to detail, precision in measuring and cutting fabric, and strong organizational skills.
• Physical Ability: Ability to handle rolls of fabric, stand for long periods, and work with attention to detailed patterns.
• Soft Skills: Patient, methodical, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented retail environment. Good communication skills.
