Stock Controllers work indoors, usually in a warehouse or factory environments. However, they may be required to receive shipments on a loading dock. Stock Controllers typically work regular business hours, but they may sometimes need to work late nights or early mornings. Their day-to-day duties and responsibilities include:
Checking stock levels regularly Completing the required paperwork when ordering stock Updating stock information on the computer system Comparing items received against items ordered Implementing or improving processes and procedures Compiling daily reports and addressing inventory discrepancies Maintaining records of pricing, purchases and other relevant information Performing random checks and audits
