The Steel Structure Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in the fabrication, installation, and erection of steel structures at the project site. The role ensures that all structural works are carried out according to design, specifications, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the erection and installation of steel structures such as beams, columns, frames, trusses, etc.
Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.
Allocate work to crew members and monitor performance and productivity.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment.
Inspect completed work to ensure conformance to specifications and standards.
Monitor site safety and ensure all safety procedures are strictly followed.
Coordinate with site engineers and other trades for work sequencing.
Manage materials and request supplies as needed to avoid delays.
Train and guide workers on proper installation techniques.
Maintain daily reports on work progress, man-hours, and incidents.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or technical certificate in construction or steel fabrication.
Minimum 5 years of experience in steel structure erection, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge of welding, bolting, and safety standards in steel structure work.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Familiarity with site tools, lifting equipment, and safety harness use.
