The Stagehand provides support in the execution of all Guest Experience related offerings in the parks and ensures a smooth and safe execution of the entertainment program while maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace and consequently creating smiles. The Stagehand supports entertainment offerings across Farah Experiences. This position works with members of the department and company as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent quality and guaranteeing a high level of performance. Job Scope:
Executes all safety checks prior to performances as per daily checklists
Ensures performance areas are clean and clear daily as per schedules
Sets up and operates all stage equipment required for the successful completion of shows and events
Reports any issues with equipment immediately to management
Operates flying winches during performances as needed
Drives lifts in order to clean and maintain equipment as needed
Works at heights when necessary while observing all safety measures
Attends necessary trainings in order to safely operate winches and drive lifts
Prepares pre-sets for shows as per schedules
Assists with rehearsals and trainings as requested by management
Moves and rearranges set pieces before, after, and during performances
Communicates with show caller and other Stagehands utilizing communications system provided by management
Follows instructions and reacts quickly to emergency situation during, prior and after performances
Paints and maintains set pieces and equipment, as needed
Ensures props are affixed properly
Cleans stage and backstage area after performance and as requested by management
Ensures that the work area remains debris free, and that a clear and safe working environment is maintained
Supports the organization of storage areas as requested by management
Provides assistance during special and seasonal events in the parks as needed
Supports other shows/events in the department and parks are requested, including but not limited to park opening and other ceremonies, corporate, seasonal and marketing events
Performs other duties as directed
To be considered for this role you will need:
Higher secondary or equivalent
Previous experience in a theatre/show or in the entertainment industry or related industries
Physical ability
Knowledge of English
Basic knowledge of stage craft
Capable of following instructions and works well as a team in order to serve the show
Desirable:
Able to drive lifts
Eye/hand coordination for winch operation
Knowledge of stage communications systems
Experience with props and set construction
Experience with light and sound programming and operations
