We are looking for a highly talented Staff System Reliability Engineer to join our team in Dubai. Responsibilities:
Build infrastructure automation at scale.
Own the solution-wide alerting strategy in the tech organization.
Drive positive change in MTTD, MTTR, and MTBF metrics.
Remove toil in infrastructure through automation.
Undertake measured, methodical troubleshooting of complicated systems.
Understands business drivers and strategic needs for features and is able to analyse, understand and satisfy constraints in the context of the business vertical.
Continuously builds and improves services.
Continuously improves agile product delivery methods in the team.
Strives for simplification of systems and processes to ensure fast and reliable delivery of our products.
Guides teams and fosters a culture to create an architecture that scales.
Fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing between teams.
Strongly Promotes and guides cross-team initiatives to improve the system.
Monitor releases and/or services and continuously improve them.
Optimize the incident management systems, policies, and procedures.
Ensure the engineering organization has self-service observability tools, and advocate for observability best practices.
Conduct interviews and mentor junior engineers.
Job Requirements:
You have more than 8 years of relevant experience, 2+ years at a similar level.
Strong experience in an environment focused on software engineering practice excellence, code reviews, and regular pairing.
Excellent communication skills and are always happy to collaborate with others, guiding and mentoring where needed.
Strong experience in negotiating SLO/SLI with product owners.
Strong experience coding in Ruby, Node.js, Go or similar language
Strong experience in using Cloud platforms like GCP and AWS
Strong experience creating Infrastructure-As-Code using Terraform
Strong experience in using containerization technologies such as Docker.
Strong Kubernetes experience.
Strong experience in creating and maintaining automated build and deployment pipelines using any CI/CD tool (preferably PROW).
Be responsible for configuring and using Monitoring toolings such as Prometheus, influxdb, Grafana, and DataDog.
Experience in designing, building, and managing APIs.
Avid a problem solver and have experience in systems design and architecture.
Is able to learn new technologies and tools quickly, has the drive and confidence to challenge the status quo, and demonstrates a pragmatic and collaborative attitude that will help develop the skills of junior team members.
Strong experience building highly available and observable systems at scale.
