We are seeking a dedicated and responsible STAFF BUS DRIVER to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and customer service while providing reliable transportation for children, seniors, or individuals with special needs. This role requires excellent driving skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage behavior in a diverse environment.
Responsibilities
Safely operate a bus or paratransit vehicle while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
Ensure the safety and well-being of passengers during transit, including children and seniors.
Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle as needed.
Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle by performing routine inspections and minor maintenance tasks.
Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, caregivers, and staff regarding schedules, routes, and any issues that may arise during transport.
Manage behavior of passengers to ensure a safe and positive travel experience.
Document any incidents or concerns that occur during transport in accordance with company policies.
Requirements
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for bus driving.
Experience in bus driving, paratransit services, or school bus driving preferred.
Strong communication skills in English; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
Experience working with children, seniors, or individuals with special needs is highly desirable.
Customer service orientation with the ability to handle various situations calmly and professionally.
Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
Ability to manage behavior effectively while maintaining a supportive environment for all passengers.
