We are looking for an accomplished sales/business development professional to join our dynamic, diverse State Street Bank & Trust Middle East & North Africa (MENA) team. Based in our Abu Dhabi office, you will be a key member of the State Street Bank & Trust Client Coverage Team contributing to our prospecting, new revenue generation and client retention efforts.
You will be part of an ambitious and entrepreneurial business development team covering a range of client segments with a strong focus on Family Offices and Financial Institutions. Strong industry and product experience will enable the ideal candidate to target new prospects in the Family Offices and Financial Institutions segments across the region.
You will need to collaborate with colleagues in Products, Global Markets, Research, Legal & Compliance. The role requires energy, flexibility, curiosity, structure and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
We want you to develop a deep understanding of the State Street franchise in the MENA region to advance our pipeline and actively contribute to the region\xe2\x80\x99s annual sales targets.
This role reports to the State Street MENA Head of Business Development.
Why this role is important to us
The team you will be joining is a part of State Street Investment Services and the Client Coverage and Sales Team. This sales position will have primary responsibility for driving the execution of Global Services sales strategy within a target territory. This is a new business sales role, requiring you to research opportunities, initiate discussions, build and cultivate prospect relationships, manage sales process, and close deals that generate new revenue for the company across State Street\xe2\x80\x99s full breadth of services and solutions.
What you will be responsible for
As a Sales Lead, VP with a prime focus on Family Offices and Financial Institutions you will:
Assume ownership and accountability for growing and converting an existing sales pipeline
Work with the Head of Business Development on the annual sales strategy and commit to its successful execution
Map, tier and penetrate new prospect organizations in the Family Office segment to introduce State Street, convey our value, and generate opportunities to grow business; cultivate new senior relationships
Focus your Business Development efforts on regional institutions including (private) banks, family offices, wealth management firms and regional asset managers
Lead sales process from prospecting through close, including lead generation, prospect qualification, RFP completion, and client demonstrations/meetings.
Successfully partner with a virtual team of executives and subject matter experts through all aspects of a long and detailed sales cycle
Proactively build/drive pipeline volume, accelerate sales cycle, actively manage deals to close
Collaborate with relevant management resources to drive product and messaging strategies to differentiate our solutions
Partner with Product Specialist and Demo team during client presentations to ensure client engagement and positive outcome
Work closely with operations, legal, risk and relationship management to align opportunities with corporate goals
Understand, monitor, and communicate competitor activity throughout the market, identifying key strengths and weaknesses relative to State Street\xe2\x80\x99s product offering
Provide feedback to Corporate Marketing on product positioning, marketing materials, and industry trends
Maintain the highest possible fiduciary and risk excellence standards and ensure compliance with all internal and external requirements
Qualifications
What we would love you to be:
Academic background in finance, economics, business or a related field
Prior experience in Custody / Fund Administration sales, capital markets or strategy
Minimum 3 years experience in asset servicing client facing roles with top tier international firm
Demonstrable network of clients/prospects in the region, especially within the Family Office segment
Willing to travel extensively across the MENA region and internationally on an occasional basis
Fluency in English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A good problem solver and trouble-shooter, with the ability to identify and analyze issues with the creativity and energy to solve them
