Job Summary

Sr. Project Engineer (Estimation & Tendering)

will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing cost estimates, and supporting tendering activities for oil & gas infrastructure, with a focus on

API 650 storage tanks

. The role involves close coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities

Tender Review & Analysis

Analyse tender documents, technical specifications, and drawings (P&ID, GAD) for API 650 tanks and related mechanical systems. Identify scope, risks, and opportunities in project bids.

Cost Estimation

Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracting for oil & gas projects, especially tank farms. software and spreadsheets to develop BOQs and cost breakdowns.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with project specifications and standards (e.g., API 650, ASME, ASTM).

Proposal Development

Compile technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements. Ensure timely submission of bids and support post-bid clarifications.

Technical Support

Assist in preliminary design and layout planning for tank systems. Collaborate with engineering teams to validate assumptions and quantities.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain estimation records, pricing databases, and cost histories. Prepare internal reports for management review and decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Experience

: 6-10 years in cost estimation, preferably in oil & gas or EPC projects involving API 650 tanks.

Technical Knowledge

: Strong understanding of API 650, ASME codes, and oil & gas construction practices. Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation tools (e.g., MSP, Primavera). Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
