About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Senior Planning Engineer

to lead project planning, scheduling, and progress control activities for high-rise building projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex project schedules while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. We require a proactive professional who can independently drive planning activities, mitigate project risks, and support management in delivering projects on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and update the

project baseline schedule

in line with contract requirements and project deliverables. Prepare detailed construction schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS), activity sequencing, and resource-loaded programs. Monitor project progress through regular site visits and coordination with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors. Lead the preparation of

weekly and monthly progress reports

, dashboards, and KPI-based performance summaries. Analyze schedule deviations and delays, and develop

recovery plans

and mitigation strategies. Review and validate subcontractor schedules to ensure alignment with project timelines. Forecast project timelines, manpower requirements, productivity trends, and anticipated delays. Prepare progress charts, S-curves, histograms, and other planning visuals for internal and client presentations. Coordinate with procurement, commercial, and technical teams to ensure schedule integration with material deliveries, subcontractor activities, and project changes. Support contractual claims, extension of time (EoT) submissions, and delay analysis documentation. Lead planning-related meetings and present schedule performance to management and clients. Maintain all planning documentation, logs, and records in a structured and auditable manner.

Skills & Competencies Required

Strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and resource planning for high-rise projects. Advanced proficiency in

Primavera P6

, MS Project, and planning analytics tools. Strong command of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and dashboard/report preparation. Ability to interpret complex project drawings (civil, MEP, structural) and technical specifications. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities with cross-functional teams. Ability to work independently and lead planning functions with minimal supervision. Experience supporting EoT claims, delay analysis, and forensic planning is an advantage.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (mandatory).

Minimum 7-10 years of total construction experience

5+ years in a planning role

focused on high-rise building projects in the UAE (mandatory). Proven experience in project planning for large-scale, fast-track construction projects.
