The role requires full ownership of project master schedules, planning strategy, progress control, delay analysis, and recovery planning across multiple projects. The candidate must be capable of advising senior management, supporting contractual claims, and leading planning functions with minimal supervision. Strong Middle East and fit-out experience is mandatory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Project Planning & Control
Develop, review, and approve project master programs, baseline schedules, and recovery programs.
Lead planning strategy across multiple interior fit-out projects simultaneously.
Establish work breakdown structures (WBS), logic sequencing, and resource-loaded schedules.
Identify critical path activities and manage schedule float proactively.
Progress Monitoring & Performance Management
Lead project progress monitoring using earned value, productivity analysis, and forecasting techniques.
Review and validate subcontractor programs and progress submissions.
Prepare executive-level weekly and monthly planning reports for senior management.
Delay Analysis & Claims Support
Conduct delay analysis, time impact analysis (TIA), and forensic schedule reviews.
Support Extension of Time (EOT) submissions and claims in coordination with commercial teams.
Maintain accurate planning records to support contractual and commercial positions.
Coordination & Leadership
Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Commercial Managers, QA/QC, Procurement, and Site Teams.
Act as the senior planning focal point in client and consultant meetings.
Mentor and guide junior planning engineers and site planners.
Risk Management & Optimization
Develop and manage schedule risk registers and mitigation plans.
Propose and implement recovery strategies for delayed or fast-track projects.
Ensure planning best practices and company standards are consistently applied.
Senior Technical Expertise
Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Project.
Advanced knowledge of interior fit-out construction sequencing, procurement interfaces, and authority approvals.
Strong understanding of fast-track project delivery in commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential fit outs.
Leadership & Professional Competencies
Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Confident presenter of planning data to clients and executive management.
Able to work under pressure and manage planning for multiple complex projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management (mandatory).
Experience (Senior Level - Mandatory)
Minimum 8 years total construction experience.
Minimum 8 years in planning and scheduling roles.
At least 6-8 years of proven experience in interior fit-out or turnkey projects.
Demonstrated experience supporting claims, EOTs, and delay analysis.
Strong and proven Middle East experience required (Qatar preferred).
Certifications
Relevant planning or project management certifications are an advantage (e.g., PMP).
Technical Skills
Advanced expertise in Primavera P6 includes baseline development, resource loading, progress updating, and forecasting.
Strong proficiency in schedule risk analysis, delay analysis, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), and recovery planning.
In-depth understanding of interior fit-out construction sequencing, procurement lead times, and authority approvals.
Strong working knowledge of contractual planning requirements, EOT submissions, and claims support.
Ability to integrate procurement, design, and construction schedules into a single master program.
Excellent knowledge of fast-track and phased project delivery methodologies.
Strong command of progress measurement techniques earned value analysis, and productivity tracking.
Proficient in MS Excel (advanced), MS Project, and reporting dashboards.
Ability to review and validate subcontractor schedules and planning submissions.
