Job Summary

The Senior Estimator - MEP is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and tenders for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works. The role involves detailed quantity take-offs, cost analysis, risk assessment, and coordination with internal teams and suppliers to ensure profitable bids.

Key Responsibilities Estimation & Tendering

Prepare detailed MEP cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions Perform quantity take-offs for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, and ELV systems Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents for scope clarity

Cost Analysis & Pricing

Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs Obtain, review, and negotiate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors Prepare cost comparisons and optimized pricing strategies

Risk & Value Engineering

Identify technical and commercial risks during the tender stage Propose value engineering options and alternative materials/systems Assess feasibility, margins, and cash flow impacts

Coordination & Review

Coordinate with design, planning, procurement, and project teams Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and technical clarifications Review and validate estimates for accuracy and compliance

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and tender reports Maintain historical cost databases and rate libraries Support management during bid reviews and approvals

Skills Required

Strong knowledge of MEP systems and construction practices Excellent numerical, analytical, and cost control skills Strong negotiation and communication abilities Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation software Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines High attention to detail and commercial awareness

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Quantity Surveying

Experience

Minimum

5-7 years of experience

in MEP estimation Experience in commercial, residential, or industrial MEP projects

Preferred

UAE / GCC experience
