1) Monitor daily backups and resolve related issues to failed backups
2) Manage backup operation in numerous physical/virtual locations working with onsite personnel and external support technicians
3) Participate in projects to implement new backup or storage technologies
4) Implement new backups, delete old backups and follow documented process related to Data Protection functions
5) Operate and maintain backup technologies (Veritas – NetBackup – Data Domain – Dell SourceOne – Avamar)
6) Areas to cover are Backup technologies using on/off-premise and NetBackup
7) Perform quality control checks, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of the backup systems, Archive tools and products
8) Responsible for creating and maintaining detailed documentation of operational procedures
9) Create/develop new technical solutions and systems to meet operational requirements and compliance standards
10) Demonstrate expert knowledge of (and ability to apply) advanced technical principles, theories and concepts using Microsoft Server and VMWare VCenter Server, GPO’s, Domain Controllers, MS SQL Server, Oracle, SOLPostgre, Active Directory Services, and MS Exchange
11) Demonstrate day-to-day adherence to change management precepts and practices and is responsible for writing Change Requests and seeking approval
12) Troubleshoot and resolve unique or complex problems in an efficient manner
13) Prepare clear and timely technical documentation that explains recommended/required actions
14) Interface directly with the IT teams and parallel teams when necessary
15) Mitigate and resolve security vulnerabilities
16) Support operational transition of enterprise solutions into production
