The Senior Buyer is responsible for planning, selecting, and purchasing products that meet customer demand, align with brand positioning, and achieve sales and margin targets. This role plays a key part in range building, supplier management, and commercial decision-making to drive profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities1. Buying & Range Planning
Develop seasonal buying strategies in line with brand and sales objectives.
Build balanced product ranges based on trends, customer insights, and historical sales data.
Plan assortments by category, price point, and store format.
2. Vendor & Supplier Management
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve best cost, quality, and delivery terms.
Manage supplier relationships and performance.
Negotiate pricing, MOQs, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
3. Sales, Margin & Stock Management
Achieve sales, margin, and stock turn targets.
Monitor sell-through, stock cover, and aged stock.
Take action on slow-moving items through markdowns, promotions, or transfers.
4. Market & Trend Analysis
Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer preferences.
Conduct competitor shopping and price benchmarking.
Translate trends into commercially viable products.
5. Collaboration & Execution
Work closely with Merchandising, VM, Marketing, and Retail Operations teams.
Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
Ensure timely product delivery and availability in stores and online
