Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented

Senior Accountant

with proven experience in the

UAE market and a strong understanding of VAT regulations

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and UAE tax laws, and contributing to the preparation of accurate financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with

UAE VAT laws

, including accurate preparation and timely submission of VAT returns. Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities. Support external and internal audits by preparing necessary schedules and documentation. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with IFRS and internal policies. Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper documentation and financial control of transactions. Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and process improvements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as needed.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum 4-6 years of experience

in accounting, including at least

2+ years in the UAE

. In-depth knowledge of

UAE VAT laws and regulations

. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP, or ERP systems). Solid understanding of IFRS and local compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional certification such as

ACCA, CPA, or CMA

(completed or in progress). Experience in [industry, e.g., trading, logistics, construction] is a plus. Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
