What Does a Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology Do?
As a Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology professional, you will deliver comprehensive care to women across all stages of life, addressing reproductive health, prenatal care, childbirth, and gynecological disorders. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient outcomes.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of obstetric and gynecologic conditions
- Perform prenatal monitoring, labor and delivery, and postnatal care
- Conduct surgical and non-surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques
- Develop treatment plans based on patient medical history, symptoms, and diagnostic test results
- Educate patients on reproductive health, contraception, and preventative care
- Collaborate with other specialists for complex or high-risk cases
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient consultations, procedures, and outcomes
- Stay updated on advancements in the field and participate in CME activities
What Skills Are Needed for a Specialist Obstetrics & Gynecology Role in Dubai?
Education:
- MBBS or MBChB from an accredited institution
- Completion of a recognized postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience at a specialist level post qualification
- Proven clinical competence in both inpatient and outpatient OB-GYN services
Skills:
- DHA license or eligibility to practice in Dubai
- Advanced knowledge in maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic surgery, and reproductive health
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Certification in Basic and Advanced Life Support
