JOB PURPOSE:

Promote the Company image through directing and controlling the external communication and networking with external parties with the aim of highlighting and promoting a positive image of the company. Formulate and manage the external media and press communication policies and strategies and directing the implementation of the same externally.

4. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

External Communications
  • Plans and develops, within general guidelines, company\xe2\x80\x99s external communications programmes and activities, recommending promotion of policies designed to strengthen the company\xe2\x80\x99s image externally through the dissemination of proper information, media and advertisements.
  • Coordinates with ClientGroup Companies and their External Communications Units, government and non-government organisations and/or agencies and other private/public organisations in the production of informative material (written or verbal) on the Company\xe2\x80\x99s activities or public image, social, community and sports activities.
  • Initiates activities judged as beneficial to the Company, its staff or which may enhance the company image and sale of its services.
  • Creates, develops, participates and directs social and community activities.
  • Acts as chief editor and controls all written materials and other collateral which will be included in the company\xe2\x80\x99s external publications such as newsletter, brochures, annual review, anniversary booklets, flyers, advertisement, printouts, posters and other types of communication arts such as speeches, television or radio scripts, video films, public addresses, messages, website, social media and the like.
  • Manages and monitors the production of Company publications (advertisements, posters and print) by directly supervising the design, layout, controlling of all scripts, other material and content.
  • Arranges and coordinates speaking engagement for senior corporate executives including industry panels and conferences. Prepares all support materials.
  • Provides professional advice on technical and financial aspects of contracts for designing and printing company publications to obtain favourable terms.
  • Conducts research and investigative work (interviews, surveys, questionnaires and the like) to gather information on topics to be included in printed publications or subjects relative to the company\xe2\x80\x99s daily conduct of business.
  • Prepares and modifies company profiles and advertisements for external directories and magazines.
  • Comply with all UAE, Client and client Asset Integrity Management codes of practice.
Budgets and Operational Plans
  • Compile and provide input for preparation of the Department budgets and regularly monitor expenditure against approved the Section budget levels.
  • Investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Lead the implementation of approved Section policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls in order to support execution of the Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
Performance Management
  • Implement the Company Performance Management System for individuals within the Section in accordance with Company approved guidelines and continuously monitor the achievement of the Section KPIs related to the approved Annual Performance Management Contract and the Balanced Score Card.
Organisation Structure and Development
  • Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Section that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Encourage innovation, enhance employee motivation and support initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve operations and services.
  • Propose improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Section.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Support the institution of an HSE culture and ensure compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines across the Division in line with international standards, best practices and Corporate Code of Practices and to ensure integrity and safety of assets.
Management Information Systems (MIS) and Reports
  • Prepare all Section MIS and progress reports to provide accurate and timely reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.
5. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal
  • Has frequent (approximately weekly) contact with employees at same or higher level to coordinate, explain and obtain information.
External
  • Has occasional contact with other External Communications departments within the Client Group of Companies for reference.
Desired Candidate Profile

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor degree in Communications or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
  • 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English & Arabic languages.
  • Must be Computer literate.
