Specialist Clinical Instructor (UAE National Preferred)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides specialist-level clinical instruction and supervision to dental students and/or residents to ensure a safe, effective, and high-quality clinical learning environment.
Plans, prepares, and implements clinical teaching and learning activities in the area of specialization in coordination with faculty and department leadership.
Demonstrates advanced clinical procedures and techniques in the specialty area, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practice and professional standards.
Develops, prepares, and delivers specialized teaching materials, clinical manuals, presentations, and instructional aids for use in clinical education.
Guides and mentors students individually or in groups to reinforce advanced clinical concepts, diagnostic skills, treatment planning, and patient management.
Evaluates student clinical performance and provides constructive feedback to support clinical competence and professional development.
Supports and participates in clinical assessments, competency examinations, and academic evaluations as required.
Assists students and researchers within the college in conducting clinical research, case studies, and scholarly projects related to the area of specialization.
Participates in curriculum development, review, and enhancement activities related to the specialty discipline.
Contributes to scholarly activities, including research, publications, seminars, workshops, and continuing professional development programs.
Participates in student advising, mentoring, and academic guidance related to clinical and professional development.
Engages in community outreach, continuing education, and professional service activities relevant to the specialty.
Maintains compliance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, clinical protocols, and health and safety regulations.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the department or academic leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Holder of a Master's Degree in Dentistry from a recognized and accredited institution.
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent dental degree.
Minimum of three (3) peer-reviewed scientific publications in recognized academic or professional journals.
Typically, a candidate with a master's degree who possesses substantial clinical experience and recognized expertise in the specialty area, with demonstrated excellence in clinical instruction and supervision.
Holds advanced clinical training and/or certification in the area of dental specialization, where applicable.
Possession of a valid dental license in the area of specialization, eligible to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
Demonstrated teaching experience in clinical and/or academic settings related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Advanced clinical knowledge and technical expertise in the area of dental specialization.
Strong instructional, mentoring, and supervisory skills in a clinical education environment.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, colleagues, and patients.
Ability to integrate evidence-based practice into clinical teaching and supervision.
Proficiency in using educational technologies, clinical software, and modern teaching tools.
Ability to plan, develop, and evaluate instructional and clinical training materials.
Commitment to continuous professional development, research, and academic excellence.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary academic and clinical team
