Sous Chef – Bread

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef (Bread) who will play a key role in overseeing daily bakery operations, ensuring the production of high-quality bread and baked goods, and maintaining consistency in taste, presentation, and standards. The ideal candidate should have 2-4 years of experience in a similar role within a reputable bakery, hotel, or restaurant.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Chef in daily bread production and ensure all recipes and standards are followed accurately. Prepare and bake various types of bread, rolls, and other bakery items according to production schedules. Ensure proper handling, storage, and labelling of all bakery ingredients. Inspect deliveries for quality, quantity, and temperature, and report any discrepancies to the chef or storekeeper. Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards in the bakery section at all times. Oversee the consistency and quality of baked products, ensuring uniformity and freshness. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) principles for ingredient rotation. Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and used properly. Train and guide junior staff in baking techniques and safety practices. Record wastages and ensure they are reported and disposed of as per company policy.
