Sound Director Team Leader

Job Description

The Sound Director - Team Leader is in charge of all audio aspects in the TV and Radio channel as well as special digital programs on our platforms. The role will help to ensure cost-effective delivery of a high-quality sound and communications service by helping to implement a strategy that aligns to that of Broadcast Operations and the Business. As a Team Leader, you will manage, guide and coach a large team of Sound Directors and Sound Technicians to bring the best out of them with minimal technical errors. Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and distribute the duties schedule and the job requirement.
  • Responsible for the team\xe2\x80\x99s rota, timings and leaves.
  • Maintain the health, safety, and needs of the team members and the section.
  • Set clear team goals and objectives.
  • Monitor performance and evaluate the team members fairly in a professional way and reward accomplishments.
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines.
  • Develop the team and discover training needs and provide coaching.
  • Listen to team members\xe2\x80\x99 feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts.
  • Encourage creativity, creating high spirits, and facing challenges.
  • You will be required to work in a shift pattern to service the requirements of a 24 hour news organization.
  • Help provide professional audio services to all SNA clients.
  • Supervise Sound Directors and Sound Technicians and distribute the work on them.
  • Ensure all audio aspects and communications systems are running according to SNA standards.
  • Plan and oversee the implementation of audio facilities for new programs and special events.
  • Manage and supervise execute any new show or program alongside the Studio Directors Team Leader.
  • Ability to work in different shift pattern that covers 24 hours rota.
Key Skills, Experience and Education:
  • BS in Communications Engineering would be preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required.
  • Team management skills are a key.
  • Proven commitment to making innovative television news.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent program style.
  • Proactive approach, committed to continuous improvement and self-motivated.
  • An effective communicator.
  • The ability to anticipate and react quickly and to use your initiative in the many situations arising from this type of production.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Arabic, good in written and spoken English.
  • Very good PC skills.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent technical abilities.
  • Excellent hand\xe2\x80\x90eye co\xe2\x80\x90ordination, hearing and vision.
  • Innovative, creative, and observant.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
