Job Summary

:

We are seeking an experienced Software Test Engineer with strong hands-on experience in testing on-premises and cloud-deployed production systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and performance of enterprise applications running in both traditional data center environments and modern cloud platforms. You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to validate releases, identify risks, and ensure stable production deployments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for applications deployed in on-premises and cloud production environments.

2. Validate system functionality, performance, availability, and reliability across hybrid (on-prem + cloud) architectures.

3. Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to understand system architecture, deployment models, and release pipelines.

4. Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business, functional, and non-functional requirements.

5. Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, security, and UAT testing on web and mobile applications.

6. Conduct testing in production and production-like environments, following change management and release control procedures.

7. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects using tools such as Jira, Trello, or similar.

8. Perform cross-browser, cross-platform, and device testing to ensure compatibility and responsiveness.

9. Validate cloud deployments including configuration, scalability, failover, and disaster recovery readiness.

10. Develop, enhance, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts for CI/CD pipelines.

11. Review system and infrastructure changes to assess testing impact and risks.

12. Execute performance, load, and stress testing to ensure scalability for both on-prem and cloud systems.

13. Support release validation, smoke testing, and post-deployment verification in production environments.

14. Provide regular reports on test execution, defects, risk assessment, and quality metrics.

15. Continuously improving testing processes, tools, and coverage to enhance overall software quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

2+ years of experience as a Software Test Engineer or QA Engineer.

Proven experience testing on-premises systems and cloud-deployed applications in production or production-like environments.

Strong understanding of manual and automated testing methodologies.

Hands-on experience with test automation tools.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing within automated deployment workflows.

Strong understanding of web and mobile application testing (functional, regression, performance).

Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.

Experience in API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or RestAssured.

Knowledge of databases and ability to execute SQL queries for data validation.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Skills:

Hands-on experience testing applications hosted on cloud platforms (Azure, GCP). Experience validating hybrid and distributed systems (on-prem + cloud). Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes. Experience in security testing, vulnerability scanning, and basic penetration testing concepts. Understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting tools used in production environments. Experience with high-availability, scalability, and disaster recovery testing.
