We are seeking a skilled technician to operate, maintain, and support SNG (Satellite News Gathering) and Microwave transmission systems. The role involves setting up uplink/downlink equipment, managing live feeds from field locations, monitoring signal performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all transmissions comply with UAE broadcasting regulations and internal ADM standards. The candidate will support event coverage, coordinate with MCR and field teams, and maintain high-quality audio/video transmission for live and recorded broadcasts. Responsibilities:
Set up satellite uplink/downlink systems including dishes, encoders, modulators, and related equipment.
Install and align microwave antennas to ensure clear line-of-sight transmission.
Manage live feed transmission from event locations to the main control room.
Monitor signal strength, quality, and stability; make real-time adjustments to avoid disruptions.
Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in SNG and Microwave equipment.
Coordinate with field crews, MCR personnel, and external broadcasting teams.
Operate and maintain SNG flyaway kits and vehicle-based transmission systems.
Follow satellite booking procedures and ensure compliance with frequency regulations.
Collaborate with production, operations, and news teams to cover daily events and programs.
Ensure all transmissions meet broadcast standards and adhere to internal policies.
Support coordination across departments to ensure seamless workflow.
Comply with health, safety, environmental, and confidentiality policies of ADM.
Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager. Requirements:
Diploma degree from a recognized academic institution in the UAE.
Specialized Professional Certification (preferred).
Practical knowledge of microwave communication systems.
Strong understanding of RF (radio frequency) systems.
Ability to perform routine maintenance on SNG and Microwave equipment.
Knowledge of HR policies, financial processes, and procurement procedures (ADM-specific).
Competency in broadcast technologies, SNG & MW systems, and DVB compression/modulation.
Ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
