Location Category Senior Job Type Full-time Working Days The Senior Irrigation Engineer (Irrigation/ Landscape) works under the technical direction of the site Resident Engineer at the assigned construction site to assist in the supervision of all Irrigation/Landscape works at site. Supervisory Responsibilities The Senior Irrigation Engineer (Irrigation/ Landscape) will be responsible for the setup, upkeep, and functioning of irrigation systems, valves, cables, automation technologies, and will also offer horticultural oversight for landscape development in Abu Dhabi. This position involves verifying the accurate installation of irrigation systems and overseeing soil enhancement, planting, and general landscape wellness, while ensuring adherence to project specifications, quality benchmarks, and local safety guidelines, Position is assigned at construction site. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Direct, supervise, and coordinate Irrigation/ landscaping construction activities/works to achieve construction in accordance with the Contract Documents. Monitor progress against accepted construction schedule and review the ContractoraEUR(TM)s progress reports. Review and Approve ContractoraEUR(TM)s materials submittals, shop drawings, method statement and samples as per project requirements. Oversee the installation and commissioning of irrigation valves, ensuring proper functionality, alignment, and performance within the system. Propose solutions to the specified construction/design issues. Coordinate with all concerned parties on all construction issues. Direct and supervise the installation of irrigation cables, ensuring that all wiring for control and automation systems meets design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Review and ensure the correct installation of automatic irrigation systems, ensuring that they are fully integrated and operational for efficient water distribution. Monitor the ContractoraEUR(TM)s performance and report issues, status and progress of works on site. Direct and supervise the soil improvement processes, including assessing the soil quality, recommending necessary soil treatments, and ensuring proper soil preparation to optimize plant health and growth. Monitor and supervise the planting of vegetation, ensuring that proper planting techniques are followed, including correct plant species selection, spacing, and depth of planting. Ensure that proper irrigation methods and systems are integrated into the landscape design to support plant health and sustainability. Provide final approval for the Works and arrange handovers and manage the contract close out activities. Inspect the health and condition of plants during the landscape installation phase, identifying and addressing any issues related to pests, diseases, or environmental stress. Perform regular inspections of the irrigation network and landscape to identify any issues with valves, pipes, plant health, or soil conditions, recommending corrective actions as needed. Conduct quality control checks on the operation of the irrigation system and the overall landscape, ensuring optimal functionality, water efficiency, and plant growth. Ensure that irrigation systems, including networks, valves, automated components, and landscape elements, are installed and operated according to applicable safety guidelines and local regulations. Provide guidance and supervision on the integration of automated irrigation systems for landscape areas, ensuring they are correctly calibrated to meet plant requirements. Monitor and coordinate all matters between contractors and all concerned Authorities. Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Agricultural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the supervision of irrigation systems and landscape construction, with a focus on irrigation networks, valves, cables, automation systems, and horticultural practices. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape construction, including soil improvement, planting techniques, and landscape maintenance. Expertise in soil analysis, soil treatment methods, and best practices for soil conditioning and improvement to optimize plant growth. Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and industry standards related to irrigation systems, landscape construction, and horticultural practices in the UAE. Proficiency with irrigation project management software, automation monitoring systems, and horticultural inspection tools. #J-18808-Ljbffr
