Site Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager
Location: Dubai Dry Dock, Dubai, UAE Contract Duration: 1st May 2025 - 31st October 2026 Working Hours: 50 hours/week (Sunday to Thursday) Rotation: Not applicable About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Site Quantity Surveyor & Commercial Manager to join our project team in Dubai. This key role involves managing commercial operations, safeguarding contractual rights, and driving claims and variations strategies to ensure the successful delivery of a large-scale EPC project. You will collaborate closely with project managers, site representatives, procurement teams, and contractors to align all commercial aspects with project objectives and contractual obligations. Certifications & Experience:
Extensive experience in Quantity Surveying and commercial project management. Deep knowledge of EPC and construction contract terms, risk management, and subcontractor oversight. Chartered status (RICS or CICES) is highly desirable. Strong negotiation skills and understanding of commercial law. Experience with contract law, claim strategies, and variation management. Key Responsibilities:
Lead contract and commercial analysis to identify risks, opportunities, and claim potentials. Prepare, assess, and manage claims and variations in accordance with project goals and contract terms. Draft and review contractual correspondence for clarity and timeliness. Support package managers and site teams in managing contractual changes and negotiations. Evaluate project events impacting cost or schedule. Conduct quantum and delay analyses to support claims. Provide guidance on contract law, change management, and dispute resolution. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Planning, EHS, QA/QC, Procurement, and Logistics. Ensure timely contractual notifications as per provisions. Build strong relationships with contractors and subcontractors to promote collaboration. Contribute to lessons learned and best practices in contract management. Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management within EPC or large-scale construction projects. Strong understanding of EPC contract terms and risk allocations. Experience in negotiating and managing subcontracts and supplier agreements. Chartered status (RICS or CICES) is highly desirable. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills. Solid grasp of contract law and commercial best practices. Analytical mindset with attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
