Job Description

Shutdown Manager a) Accountable for the delivering the planning and preparation phase as well as the execution phase of the turnaround in such a way that the client's shutdown premises are met. b) Must have more than 15 years' experience in maintenance work preferably mechanical in the Petrochemical or Petroleum Refining industry of which at least 10 years as Area Incharge/Lead, and 5 years as Execution Lead/Deputy Shutdown Manager. c) Must have 5 years' experience as a Shutdown Manager or Site Manager d) Educational qualifications: Preferably Degree qualified minimum in Mechanical discipline or standards based qualification. e) Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking English. (IELTS 8 Equivalent) f) Must be able to work with computers utilising Microsoft Windows and Office suite of packages g) Must be fully aware of safety aspects of working in a Petrochemical industry. h) Must be fully aware of quality systems and can perform regular audits to convince the COMPANY that he complies with it. i) Must be familiar with different Process Equipment, welding techniques, welding tools and equipment, testing and quality control measures. j) Must be aware of Industry Standards, DEPs and Relevant International Codes. k) Must have proven leadership qualities & be able to organise up to 100 Engineers/ Supervisors of different disciplines and manage the site organisation independently. l) Must be able to organise the materials and equipment for his job. m) Must be able to plan associated activities and acquire the resources to mobilise all required personnel and equipment on time. n) Must be conversant with the Contract and the Contracting System and must have authority to act on all aspects of the work for the CONTRACTOR. o) Must have a good skill for managing a maintenance organisation even during emergencies. p) Must be experienced in using CMMS to report cost and KPI performance.
