Job Description

A car sales assistant is responsible for engaging with customers, understanding their vehicle needs, demonstrating product features, facilitating test drives, and assisting with the sales process, including paperwork and negotiations. They must maintain a thorough knowledge of available models and market trends, ensure high customer satisfaction, and collaborate with the sales team to meet sales targets.

Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement:

Greet customers entering the showroom and on the lot, and build rapport to understand their needs and preferences.

Vehicle Knowledge & Recommendations:

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current car models, their features, and competitive alternatives to recommend suitable vehicles.

Product Demonstration:

Provide detailed demonstrations of vehicle features and capabilities.

Test Drives:

Conduct test drives, guiding customers through the vehicle's performance and features.

Sales Process:

Assist customers in selecting cars, negotiating prices and financing, and completing the necessary sales paperwork.

Customer Follow-Up:

Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business and referrals.

Market Awareness:

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor offerings, and dealership promotions.

Teamwork:

Collaborate with sales managers and finance departments to achieve overall dealership success and meet sales goals.

Showroom Presentation:

Assist in maintaining a clean, professional, and well-organized sales floor and vehicle displays.

Requirements & Skills:

Education:

A high school diploma is typically required, with associate or bachelor's degrees being beneficial.

Experience:

Previous experience in sales, particularly in the automotive sector, is an asset.

Interpersonal Skills:

Strong communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport and closing deals.

Sales Orientation:

A results-oriented mindset with the ability to meet and exceed monthly sales targets.

Enthusiasm:

A passion for automobiles and a positive, enthusiastic attitude to engage customers.

Technical Aptitude:

Basic knowledge of automobiles and the ability to demonstrate features and technologies effectively.
