Job Announcement Anchor, Morning Show The Middle East Broadcasting Networks, Inc. (MBN) is seeking a dynamic, experienced Anchor for our daily talk show, in our office in Dubai, UAE. MBN is a non-profit grantee of the federal government that directly communicates with the people of the Middle East and North Africa through television, radio, and digital media. MBN's mission is to provide objective, accurate, and relevant news and information to the people of the Middle East about the region, the world, and the United States in support of U.S. public diplomacy. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Anchor include, but are not limited to: Taking direction from Senior Producer. Delivering the Morning show in a distinctive style that will attract and retain viewers with a voice quality that is authoritative yet conversational using Modern Standard Arabic. Arriving in the newsroom in plenty of time to be prepared for the show as per the instruction of the Senior Producer. Introducing stories and report information to the audience. Assisting Senior Producer in reviewing all scripts for the show. Determining show topics and content in coordination with the Senior Producer. Booking guests for the show in coordination with the Senior Producer and MBN Interview Desk. Conducting interviews, taped or live. Rehearsing shows in consultation with the production team. Maintaining composure while on air. Performing under pressure and tight deadlines. Maintaining knowledge of international and U.S. news events. Adhering at all times to MBN's Code of Journalistic Ethics. Adhering to MBN style and dress code at all times while on air. Making sure that attire and look is approved by the supervisor before appearing on air Candidates are required to have: Bachelor's degree in journalism or broadcast journalism is preferred. 3-5 years news anchoring experience. Excellent English and Modern Standard Arabic written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated editorial judgment. Knowledge and awareness of major news stories and developments in the MENA region. Demonstrated ability to interview newsmakers. Strong on-camera presence and personality. Ability to work well with others in a professional environment under pressure and tight deadlines. Ability to exercise self-discipline and time-management skills. Knowledge of journalistic ethics and libel laws. Ability to accommodate flexible work schedule to support 24/7 news environment, including overnight coverage.
