The wholesale shop manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a wholesale outlet that supplies fresh fruits and vegetables to B2B customers such as retailers. The role involves managing staff, inventory, pricing, and customer relations while ensuring the highest standards of product quality, service, and compliance with UAE food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Wholesale Operations Management:
Supervise all daily activities within the wholesale outlet, ensuring smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
Ensure accurate receiving, storage, and dispatch of bulk fresh produce, maintaining quality and minimizing waste.
Implement and monitor cold chain and product handling protocols.
Customer Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
Manage bulk orders, ensure timely preparation and dispatch, and follow up on customer satisfaction.
Resolve client issues and complaints efficiently and professionally.
Staff Supervision:
Manage, train, and schedule warehouse/shop staff, loaders, drivers, and cashiers.
Monitor staff productivity and ensure adherence to SOPs, food safety, and hygiene practices.
Motivate the team to achieve operational and sales targets.
Inventory & Stock Control:
Maintain optimal inventory levels based on demand forecasting and sales trends.
Conduct regular stock counts and monitor expiry, spoilage, and wastage.
Coordinate with the HOC to ensure timely restocking and sourcing of seasonal items.
Sales & Pricing:
Monitor daily sales performance and develop strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
Implement competitive pricing strategies while maintaining healthy margins.
Work with the finance/accounts team for invoicing and payment follow-ups.
Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure compliance with local municipal food safety and trade regulations.
Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports on sales, stock, wastage, and operational KPIs.
Monitor shop equipment and infrastructure, and coordinate maintenance when required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or related field.
5-6 years of experience in managing a fresh produce wholesale or food distribution outlet.
Strong understanding of fresh fruit and vegetable handling, storage, and quality standards.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills.
Proven team management and leadership capabilities.
Proficiency in inventory systems, POS, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of UAE food safety regulations and logistics practices.
