Role x You The Social Producer is responsible for delivering outstanding short form video series content for JAX owned and operated social channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Youtube, etc).

In this role you will work closely with the Editorial and Production teams to create original video work that stands out and creates moments of conversation and engagement, you will pitch ideas and will execute projects that are greenlit by the Social Publisher in charge of originals, turning an idea into a video quickly and creatively. As part of a small on-the-ground team, it is vital that the Social Producer is immersed in, and has a deep understanding of the local culture - from counterculture, meme culture, myths, traditions, street culture, social issues and the fringes. The Social Producer also needs to be aware of fresh young talent from key coverage areas of food, music, content, fashion etc who could be potential talent that we engage with. JAX is a joint venture between VICE and MBC Group. JAX Media's primary directive is to create a leading platform for quality digital Arabic language content centred on modern culture anchored in Saudi Arabia. While this role will focus on the delivery of the JAX Media proposition, it should also support and responsibly represent VICE's growing presence in KSA more broadly.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Generate and pitch a high volume of stories/reels etc that are consistently on trend - and in line with the strategy.

Generate and pitch stories that will resonate with both local and new audiences, with an expectation to thoroughly contribute to regular brainstorms and pitch sessions.

Research, write and prepare backgrounders and story overviews, as well as lines of questioning to conduct pre-interviews for potential stories/series.

Work with Production coordinators to prepare estimates, and track live, greenlit budgets to ensure projects are delivered within budget - properly managing petty cash, receipts and invoices from each production for the reconciliation of its budget.

Secure access to stories and on camera talent/subjects and liaise with as necessary for the best production outcome.

Source and book original and creative locations.

Identify project specific requirements such as audio, lighting etc.

Take on the role of Producer, including interviewing and directing action of talent and crew, executing the creative vision pitched and greenlit.

Show competency in editing with Adobe Premiere as well as a basic understanding of how motion graphics work.

The willingness to break formats and try something new!

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years of experience in Digital short form storytelling

Knowledge of premiere pro and ability to edit

Has a pulse of what kind of content works in vertical/social formats in Saudi and can help be part of the content strategy

Ability to host vertical formats as and when required
