PURPOSE OF THE FUNCTION Offering the highest possible service levels at the lowest possible costs, helps to fulfill customer expectations by making sure that products are available in the IKEA store. PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Shipping Specialist Job purpose is to: . Handle Goods shipment process and local clearance procedures in coordination with local service provider and according to the IKEA standards. . Gather information from the Goods Flow Team on any goods damages, submit and follow up on claims with relevant parties. . Always coordinate with other functions within the Logistics Team to ensure proper communication and smooth work processes. ASSIGNMENT Shipment & Clearance . To supervise shipping and customs clearance. . Coordinate with service provider for timely clearance of containers to avoid detention/demurrages and prioritize containers accordingly as per the need articles in the store. . Prepare weekly containers receiving schedule in coordination with all stakeholders. . Check that the clearing Agents are adhering to IKEA operations standards of containers handling and transporting Receive the clearing agent invoices against the agreed rates for this service . Monitor KPIs to continuously improve freight movement process and report to SSS Leader as required Coordination . Communicate and coordinate with Warehousing and other functions in the Logistics Department as and when required. . Coordinate regularly with the supply Team and the other Logistics Teams to achieve the Logistics goals in store
