General Summary

Safely executes the refractory lining of ladles, EAF shells and tundishes, in accordance with working instructions and Supervisor guidance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

o Carries out duties assigned by the Supervisor, according to production requirements. o Ensures sufficient availability of machinery, consumables and tools required for Refractory work. o Ensures that the lining of vessels meant for hot applications are done with utmost care, and as per the work instructions/ guidance given by the Supervisor. o In case of any abnormalities observed during execution of work, inform the Supervisor, and seek guidance. o Ensures that all safety precautions related to the machinery being used for refractory applications are working, abiding by the Company safety policy. o Ensures that work area is clean and free of any obstacles or encumbrances. o Ensures the effective implementation of operational policies covering all areas of the refractory work so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled, while delivering a cost -effective quality product to SMP1 Operation Team. o In case of an emergency, cooperates with the Supervisor, and acts in accordance with the operational procedures/work instructions.

o To impart training for new employees. o To coordinate with cranes and the EAF and CC sections to ensure that the intended service is being provided. o To coordinate with EAF/LRF and CC on a regular basis, to optimise the productivity of the Plant.

Minimum Education Qualification (Education Degree)

Higher Secondary

Any preferred professional training

In-depth technical knowledge of refractory applications and problem solving

Professional Experience (Must haves)

Around 3-5 Years in a Steel Plant as a Brick Layer/Mason

Previous Experience/exposure Recommendations

Around 5- 8 Years with a mini steel plant having an EAF/LF/CCM production route
