SHE Manager Health & Wellbeing Grade: 12 Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government's nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES The role will lead the Occupational Health & Wellbeing agenda for and behalf of the Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) team and Air KSA. The role holder will be responsible for developing and maintaining a plan that supports the Air Sector strategy and for providing competent and comprehensive advice, coaching and mentoring that engenders continuous improvement of the occupational health and wellbeing agenda across Air KSA. The role holder is responsible for providing subject matter expert advice and will be required to analyse, determine and deploy a wide range of suitable occupational health interventions and hygiene protocols to support the workforce across multiple environments. The role holder will be expected to develop, maintain and support SHE Policy, Management Systems, SHE toolsets, SHE procedures and undertaking assurance activities on occupational health and hygiene related topics. RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION The role holder will: Develop plans that align with Corporate and Air sector strategy for oocupational health that covers: Healthy work Healthy worker Healthy environment Mental Health & wellbeing Occupational Health and Hygiene delivery Define the Occupational Health and Hygiene training and competency required by the workforce to meet the business needs. Manage the First Aid and emergency preparedness of the business in relation to injuries and ill-health. Represent the Line of Business and support specific health and hygiene work packages for and on behalf of Air KSA SHE Director and wider business as appropriate. Provide competent and comprehensive SHE governance, advice and support to Line Leaders, enabling them to effectively manage Occupational Health and Hygiene within their area(s) of responsibility. Support the development and implementation of Occupational Health and Hygiene strategy, governance, and innovative change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in risk management whilst embedding a culture of continuous improvement and sharing of best practice. Provide robust, impartial and independent advice for determining compliance with all relevant legal, BAE Systems Operational Framework and SHE Management System requirements. The role holder will be a key interface with the business leadership team and external stakeholders (such as regulators, suppliers, professional bodies and customers). Deliver duties to appropriate timescales and to budget. The role holder will have responsibilities for the planning and draw down of budgets. Monitor the effectiveness, and provide regular reports, on all of the above to relevant stakeholders. Individuals will be required to have the skills and competencies outlined in the competency framework descriptors which can be found on the Developing You intranet site. In summary the role will require the following competencies to be successful: Knowledge: Whilst a management role, the job holder is required to hold a comprehensive technical understanding of Occupational Health and Hygiene management standards and practice. The role holder will be an experienced professional with a strong understanding of SHE and business requirements, internal and external best practice and have an ability to bring their experience to articulate these in order to influence those in key roles in the organisation. The role demands a high degree of stakeholder management. Level 5 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice Level 6 NCRQ Diploma in Applied Health and Safety NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management Safety, Health and/or Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelors or Higher) Equivalent qualification in Safety, Health and/or Environmental subject. Must have post-qualification experience in applying Occupational Health knowledge and processes in work-related situations. Must be registered to an appropriate professional health institution (such as NMC part 1) The role holder must be able to demonstrate they have the appropriate qualifications and experience and are eligible to register with the the MHRSD as either an Ocupational Health & Safety Professional or Practitioner as per the requirements of Ministerial Decision 76509.
