About the Job:

Attending to guests by welcoming and seating them. Cater to their requirements by taking food and beverage orders, specializes in serving food, using a fork and spoon, from platters directly to the guests\' plates at the table. Communicating the orders to the kitchen effectively, memorizing the menu and offering recommendations to upsell appetizers, desserts, or drinks etc. in line with Jumeirah standard operating procedure. Responsible for cashiering.

This role will be available from September 2023

Your key responsibilities will include:

Main Duties:

Handling Guests

Greet guests with warm welcome and smile. Escort them to their tables. Answer inquiries about food and beverage items on the menu

Assist guests by explaining how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods, where applicable

Be aware of allergy information on menu items and inform guests where needed or inquired

Inform guests of daily specials or special items/promotions not listed on menu

Check customer\'s identification to ensure they meet alcohol legal age requirements or requirements as per local law

Offer food and wine suggestions. Take food and beverage orders accurately including any special requests. Inform Kitchen as per the request

Deliver and serve food, using a fork and spoon, from platters directly to the guests\' plates at the table. Use established food handling and serving techniques as per Jumeirah standard

Responsible for cashiering service such as generating bills from the MICROS system/ presenting guests with fully supported bills or accounts that can be settled by pay approved method, including, and not limited to advance payment, credit/debit card payments, local and foreign currency

Responsible for overseeing operations of section of the restaurant. Get feedback from the guests on the food and beverages and services offered.

Able to assist in other areas of restaurant such as answering telephones or dealing with guest enquiries on food and beverages, specially of the day and restaurant theme

Work with bartenders to fill beverage orders. Work with kitchen staff to process and expedite food orders

Prepare/Maintain the table setting by clearing courses as completed, cleaning and maintaining server stations, replacing utensils, refreshing water glasses, dealing with spills, moving dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning

Specific Duties:

Assist in the preparation of sufficient and clean, operating equipment prior to the commencement of service

Ensure that high standard of personal hygiene and grooming are strictly observed and followed

Ensure the guests of the outlet experience an enjoyable and memorable by following the outlet sequence of service

Ensure that correct operating standards are adhered to achieve the level of service established in the operations manual

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals

Handle guests\' inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to the Team Leaders if no immediate solution can be found

Ensure adherence to departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions enabling delivery of luxurious service to guests and in line with Jumeirah standard of excellence

Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment procedures, instructions, and controls

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

At least 2-3 year of experience as a waiter/waitress in a luxury hotel

Higher Secondary School certificate or Country specific certification

Basic Food and Hygiene Training

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong customer service orientation.

Adaptability and appreciation of cultural diversity

Team Player with accuracy and attention to detail

Reliable, Honest and Sincere showing high level of energy

Exposure of handling telephone enquiries associated with Food and Beverage

Exposure of handling Micros Cashiering system

Basic Computer Knowledge

Proficient in English (Read/Write/Speak - Essential)
