Senior Waiter

Position Overview:

As a Senior Waiter at Smoki Moto, an upscale Korean restaurant specializing in Korean barbecue, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience to our guests. You will utilize your expertise in Gueridon table cooking techniques to cook beef cuts on the grill charcoal at the center of each table. Additionally, you will be in charge of a section of the restaurant, leading a team of two other members within that section.

Reporting:

You will report directly to the Restaurant Supervisor, You will also work closely with the managers above them to ensure the smooth operation of the restaurant and the delivery of high-quality service.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare the grill charcoal and ensure it is maintained at optimal cooking temperature.
• Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly and professional communication.
• Introduce the menu and explain the concept of Korean barbecue to guests, providing recommendations when requested.
• Cook various cuts of beef on the grill charcoal at the center of each table, ensuring they are cooked to perfection.
• Carve cooked meat and serve it directly to guests, providing an interactive and personalized dining experience.
• Monitor the grilling process and adjust cooking techniques and timings as necessary to meet guests\xe2\x80\x99 preferences.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the grilling area, ensuring that it is well-organized and properly sanitized.
• Assist in toping up side dishes and condiments for the table.
• Ensure additional food and beverages requests from guests, accuracy, and timely delivery.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth coordination and flow of service.
• Provide guidance and training to the team members within your section, ensuring they adhere to established standards.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Gueridon waiter or similar role, with expertise in tableside cooking techniques or has worked in a kitchen on the cooking line.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests and provide exceptional service.
• Some knowledge of Korean barbecue would be an advantage
• Outstanding organizational skills to manage a section and lead a team effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the restaurant industry.
• A genuine passion for food, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and trends.
